Orca Interactions with Boats - Full

In recent years, the Iberian orcas have attracted worldwide attention for their unusual interactions with boats, particularly sailing vessels. These encounters involve contact with the hull or rudder through bumps and pushes which have led to damaged vessels and raises many questions about what is driving this behavior. In this talk, AIMM researchers will explore the nature, and potential causes and purposes of this behavior, while giving brand-new insights from a scientific perspective of interactions with a research vessel.
