Bird ringing - Boca do Rio

Scientific bird ringing is an important tool for studying and monitoring bird populations, helping to support their conservation. During the session, birds are safely captured, identified, ringed, measured and released unharmed within a few minutes. Join us for a unique opportunity to observe wild birds up close, learn about the work of ornithologists, and discover how science contributes to the protection of biodiversity.

  Participants will have to walk to the activity place (flat terrain, dirt road), about 400m.

• Nr of participants: Mín. 4 Max. 15 (minimum age 6 years old)

• Registration: Activity with on festival registration
• Recommendations:

  - Pets are not permitted.
  - Please keep a safe distance from the ringing area.
  - Do not run or make excessive noise near the mist nets.
  - Children must remain under the supervision of an adult.
  - Birds may only be handled by licensed bird ringers.
  - The activity may be cancelled in the event of adverse weather conditions.
