Seahorses in Ria Formosa

Seahorses in Ria Formosa - Canceled

Seahorses have life-history characteristics that could make their populations particularly vulnerable to the combined pressure resulting from their naturally shifting coastal habitats and anthropogenic activities. Seahorses have been monitored in the Ria Formosa lagoon in the past 20 years. Studies have identified steep fluctuations and tried to pin-point which variables could be the drivers of such variations. Several mitigation actions have since been taken to preserve these amazing creatures.
