We will learn about important habitats for the region's fauna and flora, with special emphasis on the birds that live there. We will discuss the value of the directive-protected habitats and other important habitats. Finally, we will acknowledge the value of traditional pastoralism and salute the typical shepherds of the area, given their vital contribution to maintaining the ecosystems necessary for many priority bird species such as the little bustard, the red-crested grouse and many others.
Participants need to bring their cars to the starting point of the field trip. The guide suggests to gather in small groups in order to use the lowest possible number of vehicles. Bring hiking boots, water, a small snack for the morning and birdwatching equipment.
