Bird surveillance at a wind farm

Participants will join a research team that monitors soaring bird migration at the Barão S. João wind farm, Lagos. Birds are detected both visually and with radar support from vantage points. Turbines are temporarily shutdown whenever risk situations occur in order to avoid bird collisions with turbine blades.
