This is a lesser known activity but of great scientific and pedagogical interest. The ringing of birds is a process of capture, marking, study and subsequent release. A good opportunity to get to know the birds that pass through this region every year!
Participants must bring their cars from the meeting point to the bird ringing site. We suggest that participants share cars so that the lowest possible number of vehicles is used.
Participants in this activity must respect the following rules to ensure the birds wellbeing:
- No pets are allowed in the activity;
- Keeping a safe distance of 2 meters around the mist netting area and not running near the nets;
- Parents should help their children follow these rules;
- The birds will be handled by the monitors.
Monitors may ask the participants who do not comply with these rules to leave the area, to ensure birds safety.
