Cinereous Vulture monitoring

Cinereous Vulture monitoring

Workshop on the monitoring of the cinereous vulture within LIFE Aegypius Return. The cinereous vulture became extinct as a breeding species in Portugal in the 1970s. Four decades later, it recolonized the country, and the populations have been slowly recovering. In this workshop, the details of the monitoring of this threatened species will be explained, from following reproduction in each nest to mitigating mortality through GPS monitoring, as well as genetic analyses and other parameters.
