See you next year!

See you next year!

15 October 2019

The Festival's 10th edition welcomed around 1500 participants from 36 countries, who enjoyed 4 days jam-packed with activities all over Sagres and the surrounding area.

On walks and boat trips as well as from fixed observation points, this year we spotted 217 species, including some birds that are rarely seen here, like Richard's Pipit, Yellow-browed Warbler and Long-Tailed Jaeger. Another highlight of the Festival was spotting 100 Booted Eagles at once, on the very 1st day.

The Festival hosted the launch of the Guide to the Birds of Vila do Bispo and Sagres, a useful tool for anyone wishing to explore the region's birdlife. Alongside birdwatching sessions on land and sea, participants had the opportunity to discover how tradition and nature conservation can go hand in hand, on a walk with a shepherd and a local guide.
