The Directorate General for the Natural Environment is responsible for the planning and management of protected natural areas of the Natura 2000 Network, natural habitats and wild fauna and flora, as well as the promotion of the natural environment and the fight against climate change, representation in the Network of Environmental Authorities, forestry policy, hunting and river fishing and the protection of wild fauna. It is part of the Regional Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia (CARM).
