Tiago Caldeira has a passion for the natural world since a very early age and has been participating in various projects dedicated to the conservation of wild birds for around 20 years. The first experience was through CERAS, a fauna recovery center, in Castelo Branco. Then followed several works dedicated to the Bonelli's Eagle (Aquila fasciata), Iberian Imperial Eagle (Aquila adalberti) and scavenging birds in the Tagus International Natural Park, for the Quercus association. He currently works as an ornithologist consultant and as a Birdwatching guide. In the municipality of Vila do Bispo, where he has lived for 10 years, he has dedicated himself mainly to studying and monitoring resident and migratory birds. He is part of the team “As Aves dos Pastores” project, which is a study on the Red-billed Chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax) and other birds associated with the agricultural and pastoral landscape of Vila do Bispo.
